Congratulations to Jun.-Prof. Andrey Morozov. Has was recenlty appointed to the 4th Vice-Chair position of the Safety Engineering and Risk Analysis Division (SERAD, https://community.asme.org/safety_engineering_risk_analysis_division/w/wiki/3574.about.aspx) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME, https://www.asme.org/?_ga=2.74774294.563730311.1593457243-684385134.1591212682). This is a voluntary position for one year with a commitment for five years. After each year, he will be promoted to 3rd Vice-Chair, 2nd Vice-Chair, 1st Vice-Chair, and, finally, Chair.
The function of SERAD is to stimulate interest in and disseminate risk analysis and safety information as applied to the engineering process. And member activity has expanded to include product liability, loss prevention, and occupational health. Also, important areas include ergonomics, consumer product safety, liability prevention, improvements to manufacturing processes for safety, and safety in transportation systems.
