VFIAS e.V. - IAS Alumni and Supporters

Welcome to the Verein der Freunde und Förderer des Institute for Automation and Software Engineering (VFIAS) e.V. Since 1994, we are the alumni and support network for the IAS at the University of Stuttgart.

As a recognized non-profit association, we bring together alumni, students, current employees, as well as industry partners, and build a vibrant bridge between academia and industry.

Whether you want to maintain old friendships, make valuable new connections, or stay informed about the latest research developments—we offer the perfect platform, modeled after international alumni networks:

• First-hand knowledge transfer: Gain exclusive insights into current research topics at the IAS

• Our colloquia and institute evenings
  (e.g., over a traditional Swabian snack) provide the ideal setting for professional and informal exchange.

Our association is open to anyone who feels connected to the IAS (formerly IRP).

• Regular membership fee:
  starting with 25 € per calendar year  
  
  
• Free of charge:
  - For students disposing of a valid enrollment certificate
  - For unemployed persons  
  
  
• Note:
  The VFIAS is recognized as a nonprofit organization. Membership fees and donations are tax-deductible (for amounts up to €300, a bank statement is usually sufficient for the tax office).
